Spencer was born May 5th, 2025, from our “Old Hollywood” litter and from the very beginning, there was something undeniably special about him.
Bred here at Regal Standard Poodles,
Spencer is the son of GCH Lakeridge Spending It Again at Ridgeside “Vince” and GCH Ridgeside A Night In Vegas “Paris” — a pairing that brought together dogs we deeply admired for their beauty, structure, temperament and unmistakable presence.
It did not take long for Spencer to begin writing a story of his own.
With limited showing, Spencer earned his American Championship before his first birthday, along with a Best Puppy in Show, and days after celebrating his first birthday, went on to become a Canadian Grand Champion. To accomplish so much at such a young age made us incredibly proud and gave us an exciting glimpse of the dog still developing beneath all that hair. Spencer is a striking young male with presence that naturally draws the eye, but what we treasure most cannot be measured by titles or ribbons. He is fiercely loyal, incredibly affectionate, confident and deeply connected to his people. He possesses a wonderful zest for life and a playful, almost mischievous side, yet beneath it is a remarkably loving boy whose greatest happiness comes from simply being with his family.
He is equally at home carrying himself proudly in the show ring as he is running through the yard, playing with his favorite toys or settling in beside us at the end of the day. That ability to be both show dog and family dog is something we value tremendously as Spencer continues to mature. We see more and more of the qualities we hoped this breeding would produce. There are beautiful pieces of both of his parents woven throughout him — many of the characteristics that first made us fall in love with his father, Vince, combined with the unmistakable influence of his mother, Paris, the very first place Spencer ever shared a heartbeat. For now, there is no rush with this young boy. We are giving Spencer the opportunity to mature, grow and simply enjoy being a dog before he heads back into the show ring. His story, however, will not be limited to conformation. Spencer is athletic, enthusiastic and absolutely loves the water, and we look forward to introducing him to some fun performance sports along the way. With his love of swimming, dock diving may very possibly be one of his next adventures — and knowing Spencer, we suspect he will approach it with the same enthusiasm he brings to everything else in life.We are incredibly excited to watch this young dog continue to develop and to see where the years ahead take him.
At Regal, our goal has never been to breed for a title alone. We strive for the complete Standard Poodle — beautiful, sound, intelligent, athletic and, above all, exceptional in temperament. Spencer is still young and his story is only beginning, but already he represents so much of what we hoped to create.
We are immensely proud of the champion he has become — and even more excited about the dog he is becoming.
